If you're anything like me, you have been searching for the perfect my lips but better (MLBB) color for fall and winter. Everything pulls way too pink or light on me. I received Mac Twig from a friend of mine sometime early this year. The color had all but been physically abandoned for the longest time. I finally dug it out on my search for a MLBB for this season. I thought it would be awesome to do a review and provide my thoughts on this lipstick. You can purchase Twig from Mac's website here. The lipstick retails for $15.
Twig comes in the standard Mac lipstick bullet. The packaging is very sleek and looks nice sitting in my lipstick container. The formula of Twig is a Satin, which has more staying power than a creamsheen and less than a matte. The formula is creamy, without being too creamy, as well. The formula is not drying at all and does not really settle into lines. I do not notice any feathering when I am wearing Mac Twig, which is awesome for me.
The color pulls very mauvey-pink on me, which I think is very appropriate for this season. Here's a hand swatch, as well as a lip swatch to compare.
Let's talk staying power. This is where Mac Twig really outshines some of my other lipsticks. I can eat and drink coffee with this lipstick on and it will last for several hours. I have trouble with a lot of lipsticks wearing off because of how often I drink coffee and water. I do not have that problem with Twig. It's a good lipstick to wear if you do not have time to reapply multiple times throughout the day.
All and all, I'd rate Twig 9/10. The formula is comfortable and long wearing. The color is pretty and really compliments my NC 15 skintone. I will definitely purchase when it runs out!
That color is gorgeous on you!!!!!
