FOTD: Black Lips, Gray Eyes

Hi again readers! One of the big trends for fall and winter has been gray eyes. Gray eyes aren't something that I usually gravitate to, so I figured that I could make the look more my own by combining it with a  black lip. I also thought to myself, "Hey Shells, this is a great time to use Mac Hautecore."

I kept the geeks bright and fresh to balance out the heaviness of the lips and eyes. The blush leans really pink/red on me, which is great to give that "just out of the cold" look that I'm always trying to create. I opted for a matte highlight to keep the eyes going down the face, rather than getting stuck on a shimmery spot.

Some of you are probably wondering, "did she actually wear that look out?" The answer is, yes, I did. I wore this look to my local Target, where I received many stares. I didn't care because I felt like the look was well done. I'm a huge proponent of wearing what you like, no matter what anyone else says. Makeup is artist expression, and this is how I felt like expressing myself today.

  2. I very much enjoyed this look. The black really works for me in this look. To answer your question, I don't know if I'd wear black out, but I also haven't done many looks with a black lip. I hope to see more of yours.
